Where to Get Thermage in Korea: Diagnosis, Shot Plan and Genuine Tips
Why Thermage feels like it did nothing for some people, what a clinic should decide before the first shot, and how WELLS in Seoul plans it.
Where to get Thermage in Korea: what should you check first?
Hello, I'm Dr. Won Sin Lee, a board-certified dermatologist and chief director at WELLS Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul. I completed my residency and board certification in dermatology at Asan Medical Center, where I am now an adjunct professor of dermatology. Patients often ask me where to get Thermage in Korea, and this article is based on my YouTube video from October 2025 above, where I explain why some people feel Thermage did nothing.
My short answer on where to get Thermage in Korea: choose the clinic that diagnoses your skin before it counts shots. The same machine gives different results depending on how much energy goes where, and that decision is made by the doctor, not the device.
So before price, ask three things: who examines your face and sets the plan, how the shot count is decided for you, and whether the tip is genuine and visible to you.
How does Thermage actually firm the skin?
Thermage uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate the skin. It concentrates on the area from the superficial dermis, close to the surface, down to roughly the top of the fat layer, where it activates the cells inside the dermis that make collagen.
Those cells then produce more healthy collagen over the following months, and that new collagen is what restores firmness. That is why Thermage is a gradual change, not an instant one.
What you can expect is mostly healthier-looking skin: a brighter tone, softer fine lines, tighter-looking pores and less of that dry-under-the-surface feeling. Overall, the skin looks smoother and more radiant.
Why does Thermage sometimes seem not to work?
Because it is a relatively expensive treatment, nobody can use an unlimited number of shots on the face. The result has to come from a limited number of shots, so someone has to decide how much energy to use and which areas to concentrate on.
That is why the same shot count for everyone is not appropriate. Before treatment I look at:
- Skin type and how much firmness has been lost
- Skin thickness and the amount of fat
- How far the skin has started to sag
Energy matters in both directions. Too weak, and you don't get the effect you paid for. Too strong, and you can get severe pain during treatment or side effects such as burns. This is why results with Thermage vary so much with the experience and skill of the person holding the handpiece.
Thermage MAX
- What it is
- Thermage FLX radiofrequency with a skin-microbiome test, an AQ MAX infusion and a collagen-peptide serum, as part of the WELLS Thermage MAX protocol.
- How it works
- Your skin is assessed first, then the dermatologist sets the shot count and where the energy goes. AQ MAX (alanyl-glutamine) is infused before treatment to help collagen-producing cells cope with the heat, and a collagen-peptide serum is applied as the handpiece works.
- Sessions
- One session. The dermatologist decides between 600 and 900 shots at consultation, based on the area to be treated.
- Recovery
- No deep sedation and no fasting. Non-sedation Air NOX with local anesthetic keeps you awake, and you can drive afterwards.
- Price
- 600 shots ₩3,465,000 · 900 shots ₩4,477,000 (VAT excluded)
Why patients fly in for it
- A board-certified dermatologist plans and performs your treatment.
- Genuine Thermage FLX tips; if a tip is ever found not to be genuine, WELLS refunds ten times the treatment price.
- You stay awake, so you can see the tip and the shot count yourself.

Message on WhatsAppHow many Thermage shots do you need?
It depends on your face, but here is the general pattern I described in the video:
- Mid-20s to early 30s, first Thermage: some people start with around 300 shots.
- From the early-to-mid 30s: around 600 shots is usually needed as a baseline.
- Past the mid-40s with marked loss of firmness: I sometimes recommend going beyond 600 shots.
At WELLS, Thermage MAX is listed at 600 shots ₩3,465,000 and 900 shots ₩4,477,000 (VAT excluded), and the dermatologist decides which suits the area you want treated at consultation. Every number here is a starting point; your diagnosis sets the final plan.
What does WELLS do differently with Thermage?
We start with the diagnosis and the shot design, then add steps to support collagen. Our Thermage MAX protocol includes a skin-microbiome test, two bottles of AQ MAX infused before treatment to help collagen-producing cells cope with the heat, and a collagen-peptide serum applied while the FLX handpiece works.
- Genuine Thermage FLX tips; if a tip is ever found not to be genuine, WELLS refunds ten times the treatment price.
- No deep sedation: Air NOX with local anesthetic keeps you awake, so you can see the tip and the shot count yourself.
- No fasting, and you can drive afterwards.
- I lectured at Thermage's headquarters in 2016, and the clinic exchanges Thermage FLX cases with a New York laser dermatology practice.
In the video I also mention a combination I like: a skin booster such as Rejuran HB+. After Thermage, collagen regeneration in the dermis is very active. Rejuran adds immediate hydration, and its main regenerating ingredient helps the collagen-building process, so the cells have a better environment to work in.
How do you plan Thermage around a Seoul trip?
Thermage is one session, so it fits a short visit. Changes typically begin to show about two weeks after treatment, and new collagen keeps building after you fly home; I walk through each stage in Thermage before and after.
Send a clear photo of your face, your age range, any previous Thermage shot count and your travel dates on WhatsApp. We reply in English, and the dermatologist confirms the shot count and price at the clinic before anything starts. If you are comparing prices first, see thermage cost korea.
WELLS is on the 8th floor of the Apgujeong Building, about five minutes on foot from Apgujeong Station (Line 3), Exit 3. Results vary from person to person, and your plan is decided in consultation with your dermatologist.

Where to get Thermage in Korea if I had weak results before?
Look for a clinic where a dermatologist examines your skin type, thickness, fat and sagging before setting energy and shot count, and where you can see the genuine tip yourself. WELLS plans Thermage MAX this way.
Why didn't I notice much after Thermage?
Common reasons are energy that was too low or shots spread without a plan for your face. Results also vary between people, and new collagen builds over months rather than days.
Can Thermage be too strong?
Yes. Excessive energy can cause severe pain during treatment or side effects such as burns, which is why the energy is set for your skin rather than pushed as high as possible.
How much is Thermage MAX at WELLS?
600 shots ₩3,465,000 and 900 shots ₩4,477,000 (VAT excluded). The dermatologist confirms the option at consultation.
Can I combine Thermage with a skin booster?
Yes. Dr. Lee pairs Thermage with Rejuran-type skin boosters, which add hydration and support collagen regeneration after treatment. The dermatologist decides whether it suits you.
This article explains general medical information from the video. It is not a diagnosis; results vary by person and are decided in consultation.
