Juvelook Under Eye Seoul: What I Use for Hollows, and What I Avoid
Under-eye hollows are the hardest area to fill. Dr. Hyo Seop Ryu compares filler, fat grafting, collagen-stimulating injectables and Rejuran for thin skin.
Is Juvelook under eye Seoul treatment right for hollows?
Hello, I'm Dr. Hyo Seop Ryu, a board-certified dermatologist (M.D., Ph.D.) and Chief Director at WELLS Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul. I was previously an assistant professor at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. This article is based on my YouTube video from December 2025 above; translated captions are available on YouTube.
Patients who search for Juvelook under eye Seoul usually want a natural, collagen-based fix for sunken under-eyes. My honest answer: collagen stimulators such as Sculptra and Juvelook build volume well elsewhere, but directly under the eye a nodule is hard to remove, so I lean towards gentler options there. At WELLS we use Juvelook for depressed acne scars, not under the eyes.
Below I explain what causes dark circles, why hollows are the hardest type, and how filler, fat grafting, collagen injectables and Rejuran compare in this thin skin.
What is causing your dark circles?
The treatment depends on the cause, and there are three main types.
- Pigment: dark circles from pigment are treated with laser toning.
- Hollows: a sunken under-eye needs volume put back.
- Bulging fat: if under-eye fat pushes forward, fat repositioning surgery is the standard approach.
Of the three, hollows are the hardest. As the eye area ages, the lower lid sinks and dark circles deepen, and the upper lid can lose volume too, making the eyes look tired and hollow.
How do filler, fat grafting and collagen stimulators compare under the eyes?
Each option has a trade-off in this area.
- Filler is the easiest and gives an immediate change, but it can look clumped, or show the vessels below as a bluish tint (the Tyndall effect).
- Fat grafting has an unpredictable survival rate, so it may need two or three sessions, or removal if too much remains.
- Sculptra and Juvelook help the skin build collagen, but if a nodule forms, it can be very hard to remove, and thin under-eye skin shows it.
Personally, I haven't had problems using Sculptra there, but in theory nodules can form, and in this thin skin that matters. For nasolabial folds, marionette lines and the cheeks, where people want volume and elasticity to improve gradually rather than suddenly like filler, Sculptra and Juvelook are good choices. My article on Juvelook volume in Korea goes further into how these stimulators differ.
Rejuran HB+ Skin Booster
- What it is
- A salmon-derived polynucleotide (PN) skin booster with hyaluronic acid and lidocaine, for elasticity, fine lines, texture and hydration.
- How it works
- Polynucleotide improves the skin's internal environment and structure, adding elasticity in the epidermis and dermis. The added hyaluronic acid boosts hydration.
- Sessions
- Four sessions at 2–3 week intervals are recommended.
- Recovery
- Tell us your flight dates on WhatsApp and the dermatologist will advise on timing.
- Price
- Standalone price confirmed at consultation. As Rejuran Tox with 3 mL of Rejuran HB+: from ₩913,000 (VAT excluded).
Why patients fly in for it
- A board-certified dermatologist assesses what is causing your dark circles before choosing a treatment.
- Under-eye hollows can also be treated with filler, injected with a cannula where possible.
- Lidocaine in Rejuran HB+ cut post-injection pain by an average of 53% compared with Rejuran Healer.

Message on WhatsAppWhich gentler options work for under-eye hollows?
More clinics now use newer collagen boosters, which put collagen itself into the skin, under the eyes. They partly restore volume while improving texture, and I recommend that type for thin areas such as under the eyes, the marionette area and neck lines. They are still injections, so the risk of nodules is not zero.
For people who want safety more than a strong effect, Rejuran under the eyes is a good option. Hyaluronic acid on its own is non-crosslinked; bound strongly, it becomes filler. Rejuran contains some non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid, which gives a glow without blocking vessels or causing swelling. At WELLS we use Rejuran HB+, with a recommended course of four sessions at 2–3 week intervals.
Crosslinked hyaluronic acid, meaning filler, can look puffy under the eyes, so it has to be injected carefully. When volume really is needed, WELLS treats under-eye hollows with dermal filler instead of surgery, using a cannula where possible.
Which collagen injection is which?
What is sold as a "collagen injection" covers three different things, and each has a different use.
- Sculptra and Juvelook stimulate the skin to make its own collagen. I use this type for folds and the cheeks; at WELLS, Juvelook is used for acne scars.
- Collagen boosters put collagen itself into the skin, which suits thin areas.
- Rejuran helps the skin produce collagen, and it is my choice under the eyes when safety comes first.
See an experienced dermatologist and decide together which kind suits you. For more on filler in this area, see Korean under eye filler.

Can I get Juvelook under eye Seoul treatment at WELLS?
At WELLS, Juvelook is used for depressed acne scars. For under-eye hollows, Dr. Ryu prefers gentler options such as Rejuran, or carefully injected filler, because a nodule under the thin skin of the eye is hard to remove.
Why does filler sometimes look blue under the eyes?
Filler can make the vessels below show through as a bluish tint, known as the Tyndall effect, and it can look clumped. That is why it has to be injected carefully in this area.
Is Rejuran safe under the eyes?
Dr. Ryu describes it as one of the safer choices for people who value safety over a strong effect. It contains some non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid, which gives a glow without blocking vessels or causing swelling.
Can a laser fix dark circles?
Only when they are caused by pigment, in which case laser toning is used. Hollows need volume, and bulging fat is usually treated with surgery.
