Dermal Fillers Korea Cost: What Decides Yours? Reviews, Methods and Recovery
In Seoul, what you pay for dermal fillers is set mainly by how many areas you treat, how much product each needs, which gel suits each area, and whether older filler has to be assessed first.

Why does the amount matter more than the brand?
Worried that the dermal fillers Korea cost you planned for will change once a doctor actually looks at your face?
Read this before you book a slot or a flight to Seoul.
You'll know what decides the cost, what filler reviews get right and wrong, which methods suit which area, and how much recovery time to leave before flying home. That makes it easier to choose how many areas to treat on this trip, for your face and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Won Woo Choi, Medical Director at WELLS Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul. I'm a board-certified dermatologist, and I did my residency and board certification at Seoul National University Hospital.
At WELLS, a dermatologist consults with you and performs the treatment. We inject filler with a cannula where possible, and we confirm the product and amount with you before treatment. The clinic has been in Apgujeong since 2008, and it is our only location.
I wrote this because many people budget for filler by counting syringes before anyone has examined their face, and that count should be the last thing decided.
What you pay for dermal fillers in Seoul is set mainly by how many areas you treat, how much product each one needs, which gel suits each area, and whether older filler has to be assessed first. One area with no previous filler has the fewest moving parts.
If you already know which area bothers you, send one daylight photo of your face on WhatsApp, front and both sides with no makeup or filters, and add the question you care about most, such as whether that area needs one product or two.
Send a clear photo and your travel dates, and we will tell you what fits the time you have in Seoul.
Send a daylight photo of your face on WhatsAppMost dermal fillers used in the face today are hyaluronic acid gels. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration describes them as temporary: the body breaks them down over time, and how long a result lasts varies with the product, the area and how much that area moves.
Here is the part that changes a budget. A deep nasolabial fold, a flat cheek and a hollow under the eye don't take the same gel or the same amount. A fold usually needs a firmer product placed deeper, while the thin skin under the eye takes small amounts of a softer gel.
So a quote is really a sum of decisions: which areas, how much in each, and which gel goes where. Change any one of them and the total moves. For me, the face comes before the syringe count.
What decides dermal fillers Korea cost for your face?
Five things move the figure. Anyone searching dermal fillers Korea cost hopes for one number, but the number is the output of these choices:
- Number of areas. Forehead, under-eye, nasolabial folds, cheeks and chin are each planned on their own.
- Amount per area. A deep fold or a flat forehead takes more product than a small chin refinement.
- The gel. Nasolabial folds take a large-particle, long-lasting filler; thin skin needs something softer.
- Old filler. If you've had filler elsewhere, it needs assessing first, and sometimes it is better dissolved before anything new goes in.
- Combination and timing. Adding an anti-wrinkle injection can extend a filler result, and if you want a check before you fly, that is another visit to fit into your dates.
Photos help us suggest options, but the plan and price are confirmed only after a dermatologist examines you in Seoul. That is why the figure you get by message is a starting point for your own face.
An example of how I'd reason
Say you're in your early fifties, your nasolabial folds have deepened, there's a hollow under each eye, and you have eight days in Seoul. The folds are usually the more predictable area: a firmer gel, placed deeper, with swelling that often settles within days.
The under-eye is where I'd slow down. If there is puffiness as well as hollowness, filler can make the area look heavier, so it may be better left for a later trip. That keeps this visit to one area, and fewer areas means a smaller total.
Ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case: include a side photo in daylight and a note of any filler you've had before, with the product name and date if you know them.

Methods: needle, cannula and which gel goes where
Filler goes in either through a fine needle or through a blunt-tipped cannula. At WELLS we use a cannula where possible, because it lowers the risk of damaging a blood vessel compared with a standard needle. Many doctors still use a needle for small, precise points.
Each area has its own aim. Forehead volume is balanced so the face doesn't look larger. Under-eye hollows can be treated with filler instead of surgery. The chin tip is refined for a slimmer face shape.
If the under-eye is your main concern, I've written more about who under-eye filler suits and how to plan it.
Sometimes filler is the wrong tool. If what bothers you is dull, uneven tone rather than lost volume, skin brightening treatments are the better conversation to have.
What do filler reviews get right, and what do they leave out?
Reviews and forum threads about filler in Seoul repeat a few claims. Some hold up; some need a correction.
'Swelling is gone the next day.' Sometimes, for a small amount in one area. For many people, swelling and bruising take several days, and a bruise can take up to two weeks to fade. Thin skin under the eyes is often slower.
'A cannula means no bruising.' Partly true. A cannula lowers the risk of piercing a vessel, but bruising can still happen, and no technique removes risk entirely.
'One syringe covers everything.' This is where budgets go wrong. Spreading too little product across several areas tends to give a change you won't notice, so choosing fewer areas usually beats under-filling more of them.
Another worry that comes up often is whether you received the product and amount you agreed to. At WELLS we confirm the product and amount with you before treatment, so you know what is going in.
How much recovery should you leave before flying home?
The injection fits into one visit. What decides your dates is the swelling afterward, so book the filler early in your trip rather than the day before your flight.
Plan around our hours: Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00, Saturday 10:00–17:00, lunch from 13:00 to 14:00, and closed on Sundays and public holidays. If you land on a Saturday evening, Monday is your first chance to come in. We're about five minutes on foot from Apgujeong Station, Line 3, Exit 3.
For the first few days, most doctors advise avoiding pressure on the treated area, hard exercise and heat such as saunas. Sleeping with your head a little raised can help with swelling.
The CDC's guidance on medical tourism advises getting copies of your records and planning follow-up care at home. Keep a note of the product name, the amount and the areas treated, so a doctor at home has what they need.

Risks, and who should wait
Risks and side effects to know
Common and temporary: swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness at the injection points, and small lumps you can feel for a while. For most people these settle within one to two weeks.
Rare but serious: filler can block a blood vessel. The FDA warns this can cause skin damage and, rarely, vision problems or blindness. Pain out of proportion, skin turning pale or dusky, or any change in vision needs treatment straight away.
Who should wait or skip it for now, as general medicine: anyone with an infection, cold sore or inflamed skin in the area; anyone in a rosacea flare, where vascular treatment for redness may need to come first; anyone who has had a laser or peel on that area very recently; people who are pregnant or breastfeeding; and anyone allergic to an ingredient, including lidocaine, which many hyaluronic acid fillers contain. Tell us about blood thinners too.
If earlier filler from a non-specialist has left lumps or marks, bring it to a dermatologist first; that kind of problem sometimes takes longer to settle.
Once you're home, sudden pain, a color change or a change in vision means going to an emergency department that day, not waiting. For a lump or swelling that worries you, see a local doctor with your product record and send us a photo on WhatsApp. Results and recovery differ from person to person, and whether filler suits you is something only an in-person exam can settle.

What to send before you book
On WhatsApp, send your travel dates and one question that would decide the trip for you, such as 'Is one area enough this time?' A single photo is enough to start, and you can ask before booking anything.
When you come to Apgujeong, a dermatologist examines your face and recommends the areas, the gel and the amount that fit.

Is a filler quote in Seoul per syringe or per area?
Clinics present it differently. Ask which one applies to the plan you're shown and how many syringes it assumes, so you can see how the figure was built. At WELLS we confirm the product and amount with you before treatment.
Is VAT included in the figure I'm given?
Ask directly whether VAT is included in any figure you receive, and get the plan with areas and amounts written down before treatment.
How long do hyaluronic acid fillers last?
They are temporary. The body breaks the gel down over months, and how long it lasts varies with the product, the area and how much that area moves. Firmer, large-particle gels in less mobile areas tend to last longer.
Can I combine filler with an anti-wrinkle injection on the same trip?
Combining the two is common, and an anti-wrinkle injection can extend a filler result. Mention both when you send your dates so the visit can be planned around them.
I already have filler from another clinic. Does that change things?
Yes. Older filler needs assessing before more is added, and sometimes dissolving first. Note the product name and date if you know them, and bring any records you have.
Results and recovery vary by individual. Every treatment carries possible side effects, which are explained at the consultation. Prices are in Korean won, excluding 10% VAT, and confirmed at your consultation. This article is general information from the clinic, not a diagnosis.
