Korean Bridal Facial: What to Book, and When, Before Your Wedding

What should a Korean bridal facial plan include?

Hello, I'm Dr. Won Sin Lee, a board-certified dermatologist trained at Asan Medical Center in Seoul and Chief Director of WELLS Clinic in Apgujeong. This article is based on my YouTube video from August 2026 above, where I answered brides-to-be's questions about what to get, and when, before the wedding.

A good korean bridal facial plan is less about one treatment and more about timing. Some treatments need five or six months to reach their peak, some need one or two, and some are best done in the last weeks. If you are flying in, the order matters even more, because you may only have one or two trips.

Below I go through the questions brides ask most: massage or dermatology, jawline and double chin, hollow cheeks, arms and shoulders, a budget plan, and what still works with less than a month to go.

Facial massage or a dermatology treatment before the wedding?

Wedding forums often debate Korean facial massage packages against clinic treatments. Massage does not change bone or muscle. It works like lymphatic drainage: firm strokes push fluid out of the tissue, like squeezing a sponge, so the face looks slimmer and tighter for a while. Because nothing in the tissue has really changed, it wears off and needs repeating every week or two.

For a fuller lower face or a soft jawline, I usually suggest lifting treatments such as Ultherapy or Onda. They take longer to show, but they change the tissue itself, so the result holds longer without constant repeats. Neither choice is wrong. It depends on your timing and your face, and forum stories are worth reading but not a substitute for an expert's look at your own face.

What works months ahead: jawline, double chin and hollow cheeks

Double chin. If it is mild, Ultherapy alone can be enough. With more fat, a fat-dissolving injection combined with Ultherapy works better, and for thin skin that stretches easily, adding a skin smoothing injection helps. To see a stable result, allow at least one to two months before the day.

Hollow cheeks or prominent cheekbones. Adding volume means thickening the fat layer. Fat grafting was common, but it brings bruising and swelling, and often only about 30% (at best around 50%) of the fat survives, so two or three rounds are needed. Filler improves things immediately, but the body gradually breaks it down, and many brides prefer to avoid it.

Many now choose Sculptra, which stimulates collagen in the fat layer so volume builds naturally from your own tissue. It usually lasts about twice as long as filler, and bruising or heavy swelling is rare. The catch is time: two or three sessions a month apart, with the peak about five to six months after you start. Ideally start a year before the wedding, and no later than five or six months. What about arms and the shoulder line?

Upper arms first need a diagnosis: is it fat plus loose skin, or loose skin alone? Skin elasticity starts to decline from the mid-twenties, and arm skin is fairly thin. If there is fat as well, reducing it with an injection and tightening the skin works well, and Onda can do some of both. For a broad shoulder line from a well-developed trapezius muscle, the simplest option is a muscle-relaxing injection. It slims the muscle, can ease shoulder tension, and softens the neck-to-shoulder line. It takes at least one to two months to show, so time it well ahead.

What a bride most wants is skin that makeup sits well on. Dry, rough skin does not hold makeup. A hydrating LDM-type treatment helps; adding Rejuran gives more glow and moisture; adding a skin smoothing injection goes a step further. With less than a month left, here is how I would time it:

• Face shape: Onda is a good fit; it also improves texture. Fine up to about a week before. Onda MAX at WELLS starts at ₩700,000 (60 kJ, VAT excluded).
• Taut skin, better makeup: skin smoothing injection, also fine up to about a week before.
• Rejuran: about three weeks before. Injection bumps usually last two to three days, up to a week in some people, and a bruise needs time to fade.
• Hydrating care: its effect is best for a few days, so start about two weeks before, once a week, once or twice.

How do I plan a Korean bridal facial trip to Seoul?

Work backwards from the wedding date. If you want Sculptra, the first trip should be five to six months out, or a year if you can. Lifting such as Ultherapy fits one to two months before. A final trip three weeks before covers Rejuran, the skin smoothing injection and Onda.
