What do people mean by a Korean skin booster?

Most people who message us about a Korean skin booster describe skin that looks tired rather than old. It feels tight inside after a flight, makeup catches on fine lines, and the glow they see on Seoul streets seems out of reach. They want to know whether one trip can change that, and which injection to ask for.

A skin booster is exactly what the name suggests. Active ingredients are placed directly into the dermis in many small injections, so moisture and regenerative material reach the layer that home care cannot. It conditions the skin; it does not lift a jawline or add volume.

I start there because expectation decides how happy you will be. If what bothers you is sagging, a skin booster is the wrong tool, and I would rather say so in the consultation than after the injections.

Which Korean skin boosters do we use at WELLS?

At WELLS we build our skin booster work around Rejuran. Our Rejuran HB+ skin booster combines salmon-derived polynucleotide (PN) with hyaluronic acid and lidocaine. PN improves the skin's internal environment and increases elasticity in both epidermis and dermis, while the hyaluronic acid strengthens hydration.

The lidocaine matters to anyone who has winced through the original Rejuran Healer. In the formula it cut post-injection pain by an average of 53% on the VAS scale compared with Rejuran Healer, which makes it a sensible choice if pain is what put you off a second session.

How do we choose a skin booster for your face?

Korean skin boosters are not a single product you pick off a menu. We choose according to three things: how thick your skin is, how far aging has progressed, and what bothers you most right now. A thin, reactive face and a thicker face with open pores are treated differently even when the product name is the same.

Technique carries as much weight as the ingredient. Even a good skin booster gives a disappointing result if it is not placed in the dermis at the right depth and the right dose, and thin or sensitive skin needs more delicate work. That is why every injection at WELLS is placed by a board-certified dermatologist, with genuine products.

• Tight, dehydrated skin after air-conditioning and long flights: Rejuran HB+ is usually where I start.

Can a skin booster give you Korean glass skin?

Korean glass skin is a look, not a treatment. It usually means skin that is hydrated, smooth and even enough to reflect light, and a skin booster addresses only part of that. It helps with inner dryness, fine lines and texture, but it will not clear brown spots or redness.

When tone is the problem, lasers do that work; our pigmentation treatments are the right starting point for spots and uneven colour. In my own practice I often pair a skin booster with laser treatment, because the booster supplies moisture and regenerative material to the dermis while the laser works on the surface. That combination gets closer to the glass skin look than either alone.

Four sessions at 2–3 week intervals: how does that fit a trip?

For Rejuran HB+, four sessions at 2–3 week intervals are recommended. Few international patients can stay in Seoul for six weeks, so the honest question is how to plan around that, not whether one injection will do everything.

If you are in Seoul for a short stay, one session is still a reasonable start, and some people schedule the next one for their following trip. If you are here for a month or longer, two sessions within the recommended interval are often possible. Either way, the dermatologist sets the plan after seeing your skin, not before.

Tell us your flight dates when you first write. The dermatologist will advise on how soon you can fly after the injections, and we fit the appointment around your itinerary rather than the other way round.

Rejuran Tox has a listed price: ₩913,000 (VAT excluded) with Nabota and ₩1,089,000 (VAT excluded) with BOTOX, each including Rejuran HB+ 3 mL. The price for Rejuran HB+ on its own is confirmed at consultation.
