Korean Salmon PDRN in Seoul: How Many Sessions Fit One Trip, and What Sets the Cost
Rejuran HB+, the salmon-derived skin booster, is planned as four sessions 2–3 weeks apart. On a one-week Seoul trip, plan one session early in your stay, at least two days before you fly.

Is salmon PDRN really made from salmon sperm?
Is Korean salmon PDRN worth fitting into a Seoul trip when the injections are meant to be repeated every few weeks?
One session fits into a trip of five days or more. The recommended course of Rejuran HB+, the salmon-derived booster we use, is four sessions 2–3 weeks apart, so finishing it in one stay means six to nine weeks in Seoul. On an ordinary holiday, plan for one session, or two if you're here for three weeks.
Hello, I'm Dr. Won Woo Choi, Medical Director at WELLS Clinic. I trained and was board-certified in dermatology at Seoul National University Hospital, and my Ph.D. in dermatology is from Seoul National University.
We've been at one location in Apgujeong since 2008, and a dermatologist does both the consultation and the injection, so the person who decides how much product your skin needs is the person holding the needle. A medical interpreter for your language is provided at no extra charge.
If you already know your dates, send your arrival and departure days on WhatsApp and ask how many sessions they allow.
Send a clear photo and your travel dates, and we will tell you what fits the time you have in Seoul.
Send your Seoul dates on WhatsAppIn a sense, yes. In the dermis it works as a scaffold and a repair signal, which is why people describe the result as skin that holds water better and has a finer texture.
There's a naming detail worth knowing before you compare menus. Strictly, PDRN refers to shorter DNA fragments, while PN (polynucleotide) refers to longer chains, and a review in Pharmaceutics compares how that difference in length changes what each does in the skin.
The lidocaine is there for comfort. Lidocaine in the formula cut post-injection pain by an average of 53% on the VAS scale compared with Rejuran Healer. If dryness is your main reason for coming, our piece on how we choose a PDRN for dry skin goes further into product choice.
What it won't do is lift a jawline or replace lost volume. If sagging is what bothers you, a collagen stimulator such as the one in our guide to Sculptra sessions in Seoul is the more useful conversation.
Salmon DNA creams and salmon facials work at a different depth
Korean skincare shops sell plenty of salmon DNA serums, and some spas offer a salmon facial. They can be pleasant moisturizers. They are a different treatment from an injection, though, because DNA fragments are very large molecules.
Dermatology has long used the 500 Dalton rule, described by Bos and Meinardi in Experimental Dermatology, as a rough guide: compounds much heavier than that pass poorly through intact skin. PN and PDRN chains are far heavier, so a cream stays mostly at the surface, while an injection places the product in the dermis where it's meant to act.
Risks and side effects to know
This is the practical tip for your shopping list: buy the serum if you like the feel, but don't count it as part of your course. Microneedling devices sit somewhere in between, and if acne scars or texture are the main issue, our page on microneedle RF options in Seoul may matter more to you than the booster.
How many sessions fit into one Seoul trip?
The interval is what limits you, not the length of the trip. Two injections in the same week do not count as two sessions of a course; the skin needs the 2–3 week gap to respond, and stacking sessions mainly adds more bruising.
| Time in Seoul | Sessions that fit | How I'd plan it |
|---|---|---|
| 5–8 days | 1 | Early in the trip, at least two days before you fly |
| 2–3 weeks | 2 | First session early, second 2–3 weeks later |
| 6–9 weeks | 4 (full course) | One session every 2–3 weeks |
Say you land on a Thursday and fly home nine days later on a Saturday. I'd put the injection on the Friday or the Monday, never on your last day. The small raised bumps at each injection point usually flatten within a day or two, but a pinpoint bruise can take longer, and you don't want to be covering one on the plane.
One session will not give you what four would. A single session can still be worthwhile, and if you come back to Korea every few months, think of those visits as maintenance rather than a course. The gap is longer than the recommended interval, so set your expectations by that.
For short stays there is also the combination we offer: Rejuran HB+ in the dermis and a skin smoothing injection in the upper layer, in the same session, so pores and fine lines are treated in the same visit as hydration. That makes one appointment do more of the work a short trip can't.
To see which plan fits your skin, send one daylight photo of the area that bothers you most on WhatsApp, side-lit if fine lines are the issue, and ask whether a booster is the right tool for it.

We're a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Apgujeong Station on Line 3. Hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday 10:00–17:00, with lunch from 13:00 to 14:00, and we're closed on Sundays and public holidays. If your flight lands on a Saturday afternoon, Monday is your first realistic day.
Before treatment we do a 3D analysis of the face. Rejuran HB+ already contains lidocaine, and if needles make you tense, ask about Air NOX, the awake sedation we use instead of sleep sedation.
Afterward, the general advice for most skin injections applies: no makeup on the injection points for the rest of that day, and no sauna, hard workout or heavy drinking for the next day or two. Sightseeing that evening is fine. The raised dots look a little like mosquito bites, and they usually settle within a day or two.
As for the flight, cabin pressure has no known effect on the product. I still suggest at least two days between the injection and a long-haul flight, so any bruise has started to fade and you aren't sitting for twelve hours worrying about a bump.

What sets the cost of a salmon DNA injection in Seoul
The price for your visit depends on a few concrete choices:
- Rejuran HB+ on its own, or the combination with the skin smoothing injection, which comes with two product options for the upper layer
- How many cc your face needs, which depends on its size and how dry the skin is
- How many sessions your dates allow during this trip
- Extra areas, such as under the eyes
- Anything else you add to the same visit, such as a laser
To know the cost for your case, ask on WhatsApp with the number of sessions your dates allow, and ask at the same time how the deposit and payment work. Both are settled after the consultation.

Who should wait, and what to watch for once you're home
The common reactions to salmon PDRN injections are small raised bumps for a day or two, some redness, and occasionally a pinpoint bruise that can take up to a week to fade. Published reviews of polynucleotide injections, including a systematic review in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, describe side effects as mostly mild and short-lived reactions at the injection site. How long yours last depends on your skin and how much product goes in.
As general medicine, these are reasons to wait or skip it:
- An allergy to fish, salmon products, lidocaine or hyaluronic acid
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Infection, a cold sore or an acne flare where the injections would go
- A laser treatment or peel in the past couple of weeks
- Isotretinoin now or recently
- Blood thinners, which make bruising more likely (never stop them without your own doctor's advice)
Once you're home, a bump that is still raised after a week, pain that grows instead of fading, warmth, or any pus is not a normal reaction. See a doctor where you live that same week. Before you leave Seoul, write down the product name, the date and how many cc were used, so any doctor who sees you knows exactly what went in.
If a local dermatologist offers PN injections, that same note lets you continue the course at home. Just keep the same product and the 2–3 week interval.

Can I have salmon PDRN if I'm allergic to fish?
The DNA is highly purified, but a known fish or salmon allergy is still a reason for caution. Mention it in your first message and again at the consultation; many dermatologists will choose a different booster rather than take that chance.
Does the injection hurt?
You'll feel many small pricks. Rejuran HB+ contains lidocaine, and in the product data post-injection pain was on average 53% lower on the VAS scale than with Rejuran Healer. If needles make you anxious, ask about Air NOX, the awake sedation we use.
Can I combine it with a laser on the same trip?
Usually yes, but order and spacing matter. Skin that is red or raw after a laser shouldn't have needles put through it the same day, so tell us which other treatments you're considering and we'll plan the order around your dates.
How long do the results last?
PN works through the skin's own repair, so the effect fades gradually over months rather than stopping on a set date. People who want to keep it usually come back for maintenance sessions after the first course.
Is a salmon DNA sheet mask from a Korean pharmacy a cheaper substitute?
No. DNA fragments are too large to pass far through intact skin, so a mask or serum hydrates the surface but doesn't place PN in the dermis the way an injection does.
Results and recovery vary by individual. Every treatment carries possible side effects, which are explained at the consultation. Prices are in Korean won, excluding 10% VAT, and confirmed at your consultation. This article is general information from the clinic, not a diagnosis.
