Pico Laser Korea Price: Why Do Quotes Differ? Results, Reviews and Methods
What you pay for pico laser in Korea is set by the diagnosis, the method, the treated area and the number of sessions, so the whole course tells you more than the price of one visit.

What decides the pico laser Korea price for your skin?
Comparing quotes and wondering why the pico laser Korea price you find seems to change with every page you open?
Read this before you put two numbers side by side in a spreadsheet.
You'll know what results to expect, what reviews get right, how the methods differ and what moves the cost, so you can pick a plan that suits your pigment and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Won Woo Choi, Medical Director at WELLS Clinic in Seoul and a board-certified dermatologist.
At WELLS in Apgujeong, dermatologists consult and treat you directly. Our PicoSure Pro is a 755 nm picosecond laser, combined with 1064 nm and 532 nm for different pigments and depths. I also presented a five-session analysis of combined pico laser melasma treatment at the Korean Dermatological Association meeting.
I wrote this because the number people compare first is the price of one session, and that number rarely decides what they end up paying.
Your total comes from the diagnosis, the method, the treated area and the number of sessions. A freckle patch and melasma can both be called pico laser, yet they lead to very different courses.
To start on your own numbers, send a daylight photo of the area and your travel dates on WhatsApp, and ask: “How many sessions would this take, and how many fit into my dates?”
Send a clear photo and your travel dates, and we will tell you what fits the time you have in Seoul.
Send a photo and your dates on WhatsAppFive things move the figure, and they're worth listing separately because they multiply each other.
- Diagnosis. Melasma, freckles, age spots, nevus of Ota and old tattoos respond differently, and that shapes everything below.
- Method. Whole-face toning, targeted pigment treatment and fractional pico are different treatments on the same family of device.
- Area. A few spots, both cheeks and the full face are different jobs.
- Number of sessions. This is usually the biggest multiplier, particularly for melasma and tattoos.
- Numbing, days in Seoul and follow-up. Any numbing, a longer stay and return trips all add to your own total.
To get the figure for your own case, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost and attach a photo.
Five questions that make two quotes comparable
A quote is easier to judge when each line answers the same questions. These work at any clinic, including ours.
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| What's my diagnosis? | It sets the method and the likely course |
| Which device and wavelength? | Different pigments respond to different wavelengths |
| Is this one session or the course? | One visit may be only part of the plan |
| What area does this cover? | “Face” can mean cheeks or the full face |
| Is anything priced separately? | VAT, numbing and other items may sit outside the figure |
If you're also looking at conventional toning, what changes the cost of laser toning uses the same logic. Area and session count work in a similar way in our men's laser hair removal price guide, even though the device and goal are different.

What is pico toning, and what results can you expect?
Pico toning passes a laser over the skin in very short pulses, at 1064 nm and 755 nm here. Those pulses are 1,000 times shorter than laser toning, which breaks abnormal pigment into finer particles with less heat reaching the surrounding skin. We use it for melasma, age spots, nevus of Ota and ABNOM.
Expect gradual change. That comparison is about melasma only, and it tells you a course is the normal unit here, so a single session won't show you the final result.
Melasma can also come back. The American Academy of Dermatology stresses daily sun protection as part of treatment, and that part of the plan carries on long after you leave Seoul.
For readers searching “Korean glass skin laser”: the term isn't a medical category. Pigment, pores and redness each call for different treatment, so name the thing that bothers you when you ask.
Methods: toning, targeted pigment work and fractional pico
Most of the confusion about the pico laser Korea price starts here, because all three of these get called “pico”.
Toning treats a wide area with low energy across several sessions, and it's the usual approach for melasma. Targeted pigment treatment uses PicoSure Pro, whose 755 nm wavelength targets melanin selectively. We've performed about 30,000 PicoSure procedures since introducing the laser in 2015, and the Pro version delivers over 40% more fluence than the original.
Fractional pico, often searched as pico fraxel, creates optical breakdown inside the dermis with almost no heat damage to the surface. We use it for acne scars and pores. It needs no wound dressing, and redness usually clears in 3–4 days.
Tattoo work is its own category because black, blue, red and green inks each respond to a different wavelength, as covered in fading old eyebrow tattoos with pico lasers. A CO2 ablative laser is a different class altogether: it removes surface tissue and has its own recovery, so don't compare it line by line with a pico quote.
Say you have melasma on both cheeks, a few freckles on your nose and eight days in Seoul. I'd treat those as two problems. The freckles might respond in far fewer sessions, while the melasma needs a slower course, which won't finish on one trip. Your decision then becomes whether you can come back, and how many times.

What do Gangnam laser clinic reviews get right?
Review threads are useful for logistics and less useful for predicting your skin. Three common claims deserve a closer look.
“One session cleared my melasma.” Some early lightening is possible, but melasma usually needs a course and can return. I wouldn't plan a budget around that claim.
Wavelength, method, area and session count can all differ under the same word, which is why the questions above matter more than the label.
“Too many toning sessions can leave white spots.” This one has truth in it. White spots can appear after many sessions, and they're a good reason to ask how many sessions are planned and why.
Who should wait, and what can go wrong?
A pico laser is still a medical laser, so its risks belong in your decision alongside the price.
Risks and side effects to know
Redness and mild swelling are common and usually fade within days. Pigment can also respond badly: post-inflammatory darkening can follow irritation or burns, and it's more of a concern in deeper skin tones. Lighter patches, scarring and eye injury without proper protection are less common. How your skin responds and recovers is personal to you.
As general medicine, it's wise to wait or to raise these first:
- A recent tan, or a beach holiday planned right after treatment
- Infection, a cold sore or inflamed skin in the area
- Current isotretinoin or medicines that increase sun sensitivity
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- A history of keloids, or past darkening after a laser
If darkening, blisters or increasing pain appear after you fly home, see a local dermatologist and show them which device and treatment you had. Keep that information from your visit, as the CDC suggests for medical travelers who need care back home. The American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery's safety tips are also worth reading before you choose anywhere.
If you've had toning before, add the number of sessions you remember to your WhatsApp message, and ask whether more laser is the right next step for you.

Send a photo and your dates on WhatsAppHow your dates change the total
Your calendar works like one more price factor. A course that can't finish on one trip means another flight and hotel, and that affects your total far more than small differences between session prices.
We're near Apgujeong Station (Line 3, Exit 3), about a five-minute walk away. We're open Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday 10:00–17:00, with lunch from 13:00 to 14:00, and we're closed on Sundays and holidays.
One daylight photo of the area is enough for a first WhatsApp message, and you can ask before booking anything. Add the sessions you'd like to fit in and ask which of them have to happen in Seoul. When you come in, a dermatologist examines your skin and recommends the treatment that fits your pigment and your dates.

What's the pico laser cost in Korea for a whole course?
It's set by your diagnosis, the area and the number of sessions, so one figure can't cover everyone. For melasma, ask for the expected course as well as the price of one session, and send a photo on WhatsApp to ask about your own case.
Is pico laser in Seoul different from pico toning?
Pico laser is the device category. Pico toning is one way of using it, with low energy passed over a wide area. Targeted pigment treatment and fractional pico use the same family of laser for other problems.
How many sessions does melasma usually take?
In the analysis I presented on combined pico laser melasma treatment, it was about 5–7 picosecond sessions compared with 10 conventional toning sessions. Your own number can differ, and melasma can return without sun protection.
Can I finish pico treatment on one trip to Korea?
A few freckles or spots may suit a short trip. Melasma and tattoos usually take a course, so plan for return visits or treat the trip as a starting point.
Does the price include VAT?
When you compare any two figures, check whether each one includes VAT.
Results and recovery vary by individual. Every treatment carries possible side effects, which are explained at the consultation. Prices are in Korean won, excluding 10% VAT, and confirmed at your consultation. This article is general information from the clinic, not a diagnosis.
