Is InMode the right fix for a double chin?

Most people who look up InMode double chin Seoul have already tried the obvious things. They have lost weight, changed posture, maybe tried a chin strap, and the fullness under the jaw is still there in every side-on photo. What they want to know is whether a device can actually change it, and whether one trip is enough to find out.
My honest answer is that InMode can help many double chins, but not every double chin is the same problem. Before choosing a device, I need to know what the fullness is made of.
Fat, loose skin or both: three kinds of double chin
When I examine a double chin, I am really asking two questions. How much of the fullness is fat sitting under the skin, and how much is skin and soft tissue that has lost firmness and dropped? Pinching the area and looking at the profile from several angles usually tells me which one dominates.

This is a general guide, not a diagnosis. Your bone structure, neck angle and the rest of your face all change the picture, which is why I would rather see a photo than guess from a description.
How InMode treats fat under the chin
InMode Lifting at WELLS combines two modes in one device. Mini FX delivers high-voltage pulse energy at 45–47 °C into the fat layer to break down unwanted fat and lift the SMAS layer, which is what addresses fullness under the chin and improves jawline definition.
Forma uses multipolar RF to stimulate collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. On a double chin its role is the skin over the fat: tightening it, so that as volume reduces the contour looks crisp rather than slack. Firmness builds gradually as the tissue remodels.

When I would not use InMode for a double chin
Fat volume and skin thickness vary between people and between areas of the same face. Energy time and intensity have to be adjusted to each one, both to lower the risk of a burn and to get a result worth the trip. That adjustment is the dermatologist's job, and it is also where I sometimes decide InMode is not the right tool.
- If your cheeks are thin or already hollow, I keep fat reduction away from them, or suggest a different plan altogether.
- If the fullness is mostly loose skin with very little fat, taking out more fat will not lift it.
- If the whole lower face and midface are sagging, a deeper ultrasound lift may do more; our Ultherapy explainer covers how that works.

There is no incision, and most people return to their day right after. Mild redness or bruising can appear under the chin, and how long it lasts differs from person to person, so leave some room between treatment and any important event.
If you are flying home soon after, tell us the date in advance. The dermatologist will advise where the session fits, and you can send us a photo on WhatsApp from home if anything worries you during recovery.
Fat reduction and collagen remodelling both take time, so judge the contour gradually rather than the next morning. Individual results vary and side effects are possible.
