Onda Lifting Korea Latest: Matching Each Area of the Face to a Lift

Onda lifting Korea latest, explained area by area: why one device rarely fits a whole face, and where Onda MAX, Ultherapy, Thermage and Sculptra each fit.

Why one lifting device rarely fits the whole face

Hello, I'm Dr. Won Woo Choi, a board-certified dermatologist and Chief Director at WELLS Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul. I completed my dermatology residency and Ph.D. at Seoul National University, and I am an adjunct professor of dermatology at Seoul National University Hospital.

Patients who search Onda lifting Korea latest usually want one thing: to know which of the newer Korean lifting options actually suits their own face.

Here is the short answer. No single lifting device suits every part of a face, because sagging along the jawline, fine lines on the cheeks and hollow temples are different problems in different layers. Onda MAX is the newest addition to our lifting menu, and it earns its place on the jawline and under the chin, where we want to tighten without taking volume from the cheeks.

That idea is not new for us. In January 2023, Medisobiza News (메디소비자뉴스) published a column from our Apgujeong clinic titled "안티에이징 케어 부위별 맞춤 시술이 필요한 이유" — roughly, why anti-aging care has to be matched to each area. The tools have grown since then; the principle has not.

What our 2023 column said about matching lifts to areas

The column made a simple point: lifting treatments share a goal, but each works differently on each area, so satisfaction drops when the plan is not tailored. It described the options available at the time and which concerns they fit best.

  • Deep cheek fat and a double chin — focused ultrasound (Ultherapy), which reaches the SMAS layer, was the column's first choice for sagging that comes from deep tissue.
  • Fine lines and early prevention — Thermage, which uses radiofrequency to stimulate collagen, was described as the better fit for tightening and crepey texture.
  • Lines around the mouth and lost volume — pairing a lift with Sculptra, injected evenly under the skin, was suggested for hollow cheeks and temples.
  • Checks before you book — the column advised visiting a clinic with dermatologists on site, confirming genuine tips and asking how Sculptra is placed.

Those points still hold. What has changed is that we now have another way to treat the jawline and chin, one that was designed around a worry the column only touched on: losing cheek volume while lifting.

Onda lifting Korea latest: where microwave lifting fits

Onda (DEKA, Italy) uses Coolwaves microwaves. The energy passes through the skin surface with almost no loss and heats the dermis and the fat layer, while the surface is cooled in real time. At WELLS we offer it as Onda MAX.

Two handpieces make it useful for area-by-area planning. The 3 mm handpiece works in the dermis to rebuild collagen and firmness. The 7 mm handpiece reaches the fat layer under the jawline and chin, and the dermatologist decides where each one goes so that the cheeks keep their volume.

We also changed one detail of the standard method. The Onda handpiece usually runs over jojoba oil; at WELLS it runs over our own Detology cream, which contains collagen peptide and CeraXosome. It raises conductivity so the energy travels deeper, protects the skin barrier while it heats, and you take a jar home for aftercare.

An area-by-area map of the options at WELLS

This is how I explain the menu to patients at consultation. It is a starting map, not a prescription; your own face, skin thickness and goals decide the final plan.

Which lift for which area — a starting map
Area or concernWhat is usually going onOptions we consider
Jawline and lower face saggingLooseness in the deep supporting layerUltherapy Prime FIT; Onda MAX when cheek volume must be kept
Soft double chinExcess fat under the jaw plus loose skinOnda MAX (7 mm handpiece under the chin)
Fine lines, crepey texture, loss of firmnessThinning collagen in the dermisThermage MAX
Hollow temples, flat upper faceVolume loss and weak support from aboveSculptra Lifting
Drooping brow and eyelid skinSkin, muscle and deeper tissue together3X Upper Face Lifting
Ultherapy Prime and the Fitting laser used together in Ultherapy Prime FIT, one of the lifting options compared with Onda lifting in Korea
Ultherapy Prime FIT treats the deep layer and the jawline contour in one visit.

Ultherapy Prime FIT pairs focused ultrasound at the SMAS layer, the layer a surgical facelift tightens, with a second Fitting laser for the surface contour along the jaw. Strong ultrasound energy can reach the fat layer, which is why we plan it carefully on thin faces.

Thermage MAX is our Thermage FLX protocol, adding a skin microbiome test, an AQ MAX infusion and a collagen-peptide serum. Sculptra Lifting places Sculptra at the temples and upper face to support the contour from above, and the result builds gradually over the following months.

What each option costs at WELLS

Because a plan often mixes two options, it helps to see the listed prices side by side. All prices are in Korean won and exclude 10% VAT; the final figure is confirmed at consultation.

Listed prices for lifting options (VAT excluded)
TreatmentOptionPrice
Onda MAX60 kJ / 80 kJ / 100 kJ₩700,000 / ₩800,000 / ₩900,000
Ultherapy Prime FITFIT 400 / FIT 500₩1,925,000 / ₩2,409,000
Thermage MAX600 shots / 900 shots₩3,465,000 / ₩4,477,000
Sculptra Lifting1 session₩1,320,000
3X Upper Face Lifting1 session₩2,500,000

For Onda MAX, the kJ figure is the total microwave energy delivered. More energy covers a larger area or more passes, and the dermatologist chooses the level for your jawline, chin and neck.

How we decide at consultation

The 2023 column ended with advice I still give: see a dermatologist with real clinical experience, and check what is used on your face. At WELLS, consultation and treatment are done by board-certified dermatologists, and the face is analyzed with a 3D imaging system before any lifting plan is set.

Consultation room at WELLS Clinic where dermatologists plan Onda lifting and other Korea lifting options area by area
Every plan starts with a dermatologist consultation.

We use genuine Ultherapy and Thermage tips only, and refund ten times the treatment price if a tip is ever found not to be genuine. For Ultherapy and Thermage we do not use deep sedation; Air NOX with local anesthetic keeps you awake, so you can see the tip and shot count yourself.

Onda is usually the most comfortable of the group. Because the surface is cooled in real time, most patients are treated without numbing cream, and mild redness usually settles within a few hours.

Planning Onda and other lifts around a Seoul trip

A single Onda MAX session gives visible tightening right away. For collagen remodeling that holds, our dermatologists recommend about three sessions four to six weeks apart, so a one-off trip is best seen as the first step or combined with another lift chosen for that visit.

If you only have one visit, tell us. Sometimes the better plan is one Ultherapy Prime FIT or Thermage MAX session now, with Onda added on a return trip. Results vary from person to person, and side effects are possible with any treatment.

Send your photos, the areas that bother you and your travel dates. We will reply with an area-by-area plan and the listed prices.

Is Onda better than Ultherapy?

Neither is better for everyone. Ultherapy works on the deep SMAS layer; Onda heats the dermis and fat layer while cooling the surface. On thin cheeks, Onda can be the safer choice for volume. The dermatologist decides after a 3D analysis.

How much does Onda MAX cost at WELLS?

Can I combine Onda with Thermage or Sculptra?

Lifting devices and Sculptra act on different layers, so combinations are common. The dermatologist plans the order and timing at consultation; mention any recent lifting, fillers or threads.

Results and recovery vary by individual. Every treatment carries possible side effects, which are explained at the consultation. Prices are in Korean won, excluding 10% VAT, and confirmed at your consultation. This article is general information from the clinic, not a diagnosis.
