How much is botox in Korea? The honest short answer

If you are asking how much is botox in Korea, you probably want one number you can put in a travel budget. I understand that, and I would rather show you how the price is actually built than give you a teaser figure that changes once you sit down.

I am Dr. Hyo Seop Ryu, a board-certified dermatologist (M.D., Ph.D.) and one of the chief directors at WELLS Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul. Here, the price for standard muscle botox is confirmed at your consultation, because it depends on the areas you want treated and the dose set for your muscles.

The one toxin treatment we list with a fixed price is Rejuran Tox, which pairs a skin booster with microdroplet toxin. Every price we quote is in Korean won and excludes 10% VAT.

What changes the botox in Korea price?

When people compare the botox in Korea price between clinics, they are often comparing different things. Four variables move the number, and it helps to know them before you ask anyone for a quote.

• The area. Frown lines between the brows, forehead lines and crow's feet are separate areas. Slimming an enlarged jaw muscle is a different treatment again.
• The dose. Larger or stronger muscles generally need more product. The dermatologist sets the dose after watching you frown, raise your brows and clench.
• The technique. Muscle botox goes deep into the muscle. Skin botox is diluted and placed shallowly in the dermis for fine lines, pores and oiliness, and it is planned differently.
• What it is combined with. Rejuran Tox pairs Rejuran HB+ (3 cc) with skin botox (3 cc) in one session, which is why it has its own listed price.

What does not change is who injects you. Every injection at WELLS is placed by a board-certified dermatologist, and genuine product and quantity are guaranteed.

Is botox cheaper in Korea?

It is one of the most common questions I get, and I cannot answer it honestly with a simple yes. I do not know what your clinic at home charges, and I am not going to quote other clinics' prices on their behalf.

What I can tell you is what you pay for here: a consultation with a dermatologist, a product whose genuineness and quantity are guaranteed, and a dose decided for your muscles rather than a fixed package. If a price anywhere, Seoul included, looks unusually low, it is worth asking which of those three is missing.

Count the trip as well. Toxin injections are generally quick, so botox fits easily into a visit you are already making. Flying in for a single wrinkle area is a different calculation, and I would rather you make it with the full picture.

Masseter botox: price, dose, and what 'gone wrong' usually means

Jaw slimming is one of the two main uses on our botox treatment page: relaxing an enlarged muscle so the lower face looks narrower. The masseter is a large muscle, so the dose, and therefore the price, is decided after I have felt it contract.

When people search masseter botox gone wrong, the stories usually come down to placement and dose. Generally, toxin placed in the wrong spot can affect the muscles you smile with, and an uneven dose can leave the two sides looking different.

Those are known risks of toxin injections, not rare surprises, which is why the muscle is examined first. Side effects are possible with any injectable, and individual results vary.

Masseter botox before and after is a question of time rather than of the day itself. Toxin relaxes the muscle gradually, and the change in the jawline generally shows over the following weeks. A wide lower face is also not always muscle; if it is fat or sagging, botox will not change it, and I will say so.

Botox for jowls and botox under eyes: when I would spend your money elsewhere

Botox relaxes; it does not lift. Botox for jowls is a common request, but a jowl is generally tissue that has descended, not an overactive muscle, so I would usually talk about lifting treatments rather than toxin.

Botox under eyes needs the same care. Crow's feet at the outer corner are a standard toxin area, but a hollow directly under the eye is usually a volume question. At WELLS, under-eye hollows are treated with filler instead of surgery, and the planning is explained on our dermal filler page.

Fine lines around the eyes and cheeks, rough texture and visible pores can suit skin botox rather than muscle botox. That is where Rejuran Tox fits, and it is the toxin treatment with a published price.

Sweating is a use people rarely expect. Our hyperhidrosis treatment uses Korean-made Nabota to reduce excessive sweating, and that price is also confirmed at consultation.

Botox before and after: what the price buys over time

Search botox before and after and you will find plenty of dramatic pictures. What I would rather explain is the timeline you are paying for, because it affects how you budget.

Muscle botox is maintenance, not a one-off. For people in their 30s, I recommend toxin on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes at least once a year. Once wrinkles become fixed later in life, what botox can do becomes limited, so the price is best thought of as recurring.

If you choose Rejuran Tox, small raised bumps appear where the product goes in. They usually settle within two to three days, though some people see them fade in a day and others after about five.
