Jawline Filler Seoul: When I Support the Contour From Above Instead

Searching jawline filler in Seoul? Dr. Lee explains why a softening jawline is often an elasticity problem, and when he lifts from above instead of filling.

Jawline filler Seoul: the short answer

Hello, I'm Dr. Won Sin Lee, a board-certified dermatologist and Chief Director at WELLS Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul. I trained in dermatology at Asan Medical Center and serve there as an adjunct professor.

Many visitors message us after searching jawline filler Seoul, hoping to sharpen a lower face that has started to blur. I understand the wish, and I want to give a straight answer before you book.

When a jawline softens with age, the cause is often lost elasticity and support higher up the face, not a lack of volume at the jaw itself. Filling the jaw directly can then add weight where the face is already heavy. In those cases I would rather support the contour from above, with Sculptra placed at the temples and upper face.

I wrote about the link between dry, tired skin and lost elasticity in a health column for SR Times (SR타임스) in November 2020, headlined 'Perfect for the dry season: Sculptra, a treatment that suits the skin'. This post builds on that column for readers planning a trip to Seoul.

Why a jawline softens in the first place

In the column I pointed out that skin dryness is closely tied to aging. When skin dries out season after season, elasticity drops, and that loss shows first where gravity pulls hardest: along the lower face and the jaw.

Collagen is what keeps skin firm. As it declines, the mid-face descends slightly, the temples flatten and the line from ear to chin loses its edge. The jaw looks less defined, but the change started above it.

So when people describe a sagging jawline, the treatment they need depends on which of these changes is driving it. Sometimes it is mostly laxity, sometimes mostly volume loss, and often a mix of both.

That is why I ask every patient asking about jawline filler in Seoul to look at the whole face in the mirror, not only the lower third. The answer to a blurred jawline is sometimes at the temple.

Fill the jaw, or lift from above?

Our signature Sculptra Lifting was built for exactly this question. A less-defined jawline is one of the concerns it is listed for, together with sagging cheeks and hollow temples.

I explain the difference to most people who arrive asking for jawline filler Seoul clinics advertise. When the lower face has dropped, adding filler along the jaw can push the profile wider instead of sharper. Supporting the tissue above lets the existing jawline show again.

Instead of filling the area that sags, the dermatologist maps the face's support structure and the direction it needs to be lifted. Sculptra then builds collagen over the following months, so the contour returns gradually. One session is listed at ₩1,320,000 (VAT excluded), and the dermatologist tells you whether one is enough.

When filler is still the right tool

Filler has a clear place. On our dermal fillers page, the chin tip is refined for a slimmer face shape, and volume is planned for each face across the forehead, under-eyes, nasolabial folds, cheeks and chin.

When the lower face is short or recessed at the chin rather than sagging, a small, precise amount of filler can give the jawline its end point. Our dermatologists inject with a cannula where possible, which minimizes the vessel-damage risk of a standard needle, and we confirm the product and amount before treatment.

Chin filler in Seoul is also a common request on its own, and it often does more for jawline definition than product along the bone. A small change at the front of the jaw can make the whole line read as longer and cleaner.

For softness caused by fullness under the chin, a device can do more than any injectable. Our InMode Mini FX is used to address fullness under the chin and improve jawline definition. My colleagues have covered chin work in more depth in our chin filler guide.

What I told readers about Sculptra in that column

In the SR Times column I described Sculptra as a collagen stimulator injected directly into the skin. Its greatest advantage is not a dramatic change on the day, but volume that improves naturally and steadily as time passes.

I also wrote that for an effective result, a full vial of Sculptra has to be placed in the correct skin layer. So I advised readers to check whether a dermatologist with enough experience performs the treatment, and whether the clinic guarantees genuine product at the full dose.

At WELLS, every Sculptra vial is guaranteed genuine and a genuine full vial is one of our stated commitments. Dr. Choi, Dr. Ryu and I completed Handok's Sculptra hands-on training program, and we analyze the face in 3D before planning.

Dry-season skin care that protects the jawline you have

The column was written for Korea's dry autumn, and its everyday advice is useful for anyone travelling from a humid climate into a Seoul winter.

  • Don't over-exfoliate when skin flakes: scrubbing removes the protective layer along with dead cells
  • Wash with lukewarm water close to body temperature, and pat rather than rub
  • Apply moisturizer straight after washing
  • Clean a humidifier often so bacteria don't build up inside it
  • Hold a facial mist at a distance, and drink enough water rather than relying on sprays

None of this replaces treatment for a softened jawline, but it slows the dryness that feeds into lost elasticity. It also gives any procedure a healthier surface to work with.

Planning jawline treatment in Seoul

Send a front and side photo and your travel dates first. We reply with whether filler, Sculptra Lifting, a device or a combination suits your jaw, and the listed price where one exists.

In Seoul you meet a dermatologist for consultation and 3D analysis before anything is confirmed. Because Sculptra builds over months, the final contour develops after you return home. You can read more about our team on the dermatologists page.

Some people compare jawline filler in Korea with treatment at home and decide to do the planning here and the follow-up elsewhere. That is fine, as long as the plan is clear about what was placed, where and how much, so whoever sees you next can build on it.

Our clinic is a five-minute walk from Exit 3 of Apgujeong Station on Line 3. Consultations are available in English, and we use no deep sedation for lifting treatments, so you can walk out and continue your day.

Tell us your dates and send two photos. We'll suggest an approach for your jawline before you travel.

Questions people ask

Before you message us

Is jawline filler in Seoul the best way to define the jaw?

Not always. When the jaw softens because tissue has dropped, supporting it from above with Sculptra Lifting often suits better than filling the jaw directly. A dermatologist decides after examining your face.

How much is Sculptra Lifting at WELLS?

One session is listed at ₩1,320,000 (VAT excluded). Whether one session is enough is decided at consultation.

Do you use filler for the chin?

Yes. On our dermal filler page the chin tip is refined for a slimmer face shape, and the product and amount are confirmed before treatment.

When will I see the jawline change after Sculptra?

Sculptra builds your own collagen, so the contour returns gradually over the following months rather than all at once.

Results and recovery vary by individual. Every treatment carries possible side effects, which are explained at the consultation. Prices are in Korean won, excluding 10% VAT, and confirmed at your consultation. This article is general information from the clinic, not a diagnosis.
