Eye lifting treatment Korea: what non-surgical options can and can't do
A Seoul dermatologist on non-surgical eye lifting in Korea: what Eye Thermage tightens, why the brow matters, and who should see a surgeon instead.

What is a non-surgical eye lifting treatment in Korea?
Hello, I'm Dr. Won Sin Lee, a board-certified dermatologist and Chief Director at WELLS Clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul. I trained and was board-certified in dermatology at Asan Medical Center, where I am an adjunct professor.
Visitors searching for an eye lifting treatment Korea clinics offer usually describe the same things: upper lids sitting lower, eyeshadow creasing, a tired look that sleep does not fix. They want to know whether something short of surgery can help.
The direct answer: non-surgical eye lifting tightens thin skin and supports the brow, but it does not remove fat or cut away excess lid skin. At WELLS we do it as 3X Upper Face Lifting, which combines Eye Thermage, EMFACE and Eye Ultherapy in one visit for ₩2,500,000 (VAT excluded).
What I wrote for SR Times about drooping eyelids
In May 2021 I wrote a health column for SR Times (SR타임스) around Parents' Day in Korea. More families were giving a skin treatment instead of the usual gifts, and many mothers and daughters were coming to the clinic together, one for treatment and one for prevention.
Older patients were also arriving well informed. With smartphones, many already knew which treatment they wanted and why. Among them, lifting treatments were the most popular.
My main point in the column was about the eyes. Collagen production drops as we age, and skin loses its strength. The eye area shows it first, because the skin there is thin and has little fat underneath, so wrinkles and drooping appear early.
How does Eye Thermage work on thin eyelid skin?
Most people know Thermage as a treatment for overall facial firmness. It can also be used on the eyelids, with a tip designed only for the eye area. Monopolar radiofrequency heats the dermis to stimulate collagen remodeling.
In the column I described the changes patients notice: a clearer double-eyelid line and eyes that look more open. I also addressed the occasional story of little effect or bruising, and wrote that with an experienced team doing it properly, these are uncommon.
With Thermage FLX, results may begin to appear after about two weeks and last six to fourteen months. Individual results vary. Our existing guide to Eye Thermage Korea covers the treatment itself in more detail.

Why we treat the eye area in three layers
A drooping brow involves skin, muscle and deeper tissue. Treating the skin alone can leave the other two layers behind, so the brow keeps pressing down on the lid.
| Layer | Device | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Skin | Eye Thermage, 450 shots | Tightens the thin skin of the eyelids and around the eyes |
| Muscle | EMFACE, 2 passes, 40 minutes | Works the muscles that hold the forehead and brow line |
| Deep layer | Eye Ultherapy, 50 shots | Lifts the deeper layer around the brow |
One session is listed at ₩2,500,000 (VAT excluded) and there is no incision. The dermatologist plans the order and treats you in person. Full details are on the 3X Upper Face Lifting page.
Send a front and a side photo of your eyes, relaxed, with your travel dates. The dermatologist will tell you whether a non-surgical plan fits.
Send a photo of my eyesEye lifting treatment Korea: who is it right for?
Non-surgical eye lifting suits people whose main change is in the skin and the brow. It is a treatment of support and firmness, so honest selection matters more than anything else.
- Heavy or slightly drooping eyelids with thin, crepey skin.
- A brow line that has dropped and pushes on the upper lid.
- Forehead or eye-area laxity in someone who wants to avoid surgery.
- Parents who want a gentle lift without the recovery of an operation.
It is not the right answer for large fat bags under the eyes or a lot of excess lid skin. Those are questions for a surgical consultation, and I will tell you so if that is what I see.
What to check before any eye lifting treatment
Because eyelid skin is so thin, the details I stressed in the column are the ones I would ask about anywhere: who controls the energy, how the handpiece pressure is managed, and whether the treatment is designed in advance for your eyes.
At WELLS, only genuine Thermage tips are used, and you see the tip's ID card before we start. If a tip is ever found not to be genuine, WELLS refunds ten times the treatment price.
For comfort, we use local anesthesia and non-sedation Air NOX rather than deep sedation. You stay awake, need no fasting and can drive afterwards. See the Air NOX page for who it suits.
How an eye lifting treatment Korea visit runs on the day
Most visitors want to know how much of their trip this takes. Here is how a typical 3X Upper Face Lifting visit at WELLS is organised, from the first message to the flight home.
- Before you fly: send relaxed photos of your eyes and your dates on WhatsApp. We confirm whether a non-surgical plan is realistic and reserve a time.
- Consultation: the dermatologist examines the lids, the brow and the forehead in person and confirms the plan and the price before anything starts.
- Comfort: numbing, local anesthesia and Air NOX if it suits you. You stay awake throughout.
- Treatment: Eye Thermage for the skin, EMFACE for the muscles that hold the brow, and Eye Ultherapy for the deeper layer.
- Afterwards: there is no incision, and the dermatologist explains what to expect for your skin in the following days.
Because results build over weeks, you will usually see the change at home rather than in Seoul. That is normal for any collagen-based eye lifting treatment Korea clinics offer, and it is worth planning your expectations around.
If you also want work elsewhere on the face, tell us in advance. Combinations with full-face treatment are possible in some cases, and the dermatologist decides the order. Our Thermage MAX page explains the full-face option.
Bringing a parent to Seoul for treatment
Many families plan this as a trip together. A parent can have 3X Upper Face Lifting while you have a consultation of your own, as I described in the column.
WELLS is five minutes on foot from Apgujeong Station, Exit 3, and consultations are available in English. Send us both sets of dates and concerns, and we plan the visits side by side. Directions are on our clinic page.
Planning a visit with a parent? Tell us your dates and each person's main concern. We suggest a plan and times for both.
